Challenge

Create the look and feel, sleeve and on-body design for The Guardian’s CD promotion for Oxfam’s Make Trade Fair campaign.

 

Audience

Guardian readers and the public nationwide.

 

Solution

The Big Noise is Oxfam’s global petition calling for an end to the unfair rules of world trade. It’s about making your voice heard.The creative concept for the look and feel was based on an old ghetto blaster with the volume turned up to MAX (everyone’s voice being heard). Each time the stereo is passed on to another person, it gets older and used as each voice is recorded. Featured artists on the music CD included, Coldplay, Radiohead, REM, The Chemical Brothers and Lemon Jelly. The design was used on press ads, TV, and all promotional material.

 

The CD created a 21% increase in sales alone.​
