Challenge

Contemporary packaging graphics for a natural hair dye range.

 

Ophelia is a natural beauty and cosmetics brand focusing on non-chemical products for consumers. It has sourced and developed 100% chemical-free Henna, Indigo and Cassia Obovata powder – hair dye for ALL hair types which has ZERO negative impacts on the skin. 

 

Audience

Indian and Asian women. First phase launch: Canada territory.

 

Solution

Dated graphics and traditional cliche branding dominate this end of the Indian market. To avoid a stereotypical design, I focused on each variant's key natural ingredient (the leaf) and turned it into a graphic device, creating a decorative floral motif when combined with the on-pack product shot. A clean white background, black leaf illustrations and minimal colours gave it a contemporary, striking and consistent look and feel.

 

The leaf device continued through with the logotype, reflecting a feminine and intimate feel.
